Southwest Airlines - WOLF

Upgrade SWIFT, a 29-year old software application responsible for managing over 800 planes and 4,000 daily flights. our goal was to enhance operational efficiency and integrate new features by overcoming the limitations of this outdated system.

Goal(s)

  1. Find ways to maximize the users' efficiency when they are executing operations on the tool.
  2. Synchronize the timeline with Southwest Airlines' commitment to Congress regarding software upgrade.

Idea

Use patterns and conventional design to bring visual consistency and a more intuitive experience amidst the plethora of data in front of them by utilizing and adapting the Design System we built for SWA which will also expedite the development process.

Goal

Find ways to maximize the users' efficiency when they are executing operations on the tool.

Idea

Introduce a way to eliminate the clutter of the user's workspace. In SWIFT, operations are initiated through dialogue boxes that pop open in a separate window. By opening them in the side panel we contain the clutter, but also give them the option to eject the dialogue box and move it around their workspace
