Dell UXD Design System
Over the years, Dell's Design System became extensive as designers and engineers kept adding components. We came on board and were asked to add even more components to their library based off their latest B2C product. We saw an opportunity to upsell by suggesting to eliminate the clutter and develop a more complete and concise library.
Task
Develop a simplified UXD Design System to create a unified look and feel - complete with documentation and correct usage & implementation
Challenges
We were wary of the cascading effect that updating the design library would have on all their B2C facing software. To counter any disruption we executed a full audit of the suite of tools to find any potential issues and identified component mainstays. Rollout of the new design system would be sequential according to level of engagement, and a new process was implemented to prevent future bloats.
